Call for Paper Special Issue - Curriculum Theory and Contemporary Educational Imaginaries: Posthuman Perspectives
Dear Colleagues and Researchers,
We are pleased to announce a forthcoming special issue of Pedagogical Perspective,
dedicated to critical, theoretical, and interdisciplinary explorations of curriculum theory and contemporary educational imaginaries from posthuman perspectives.
This Special Issue aims to bring together scholars who engage with posthuman, post-anthropocentric, decolonial, feminist, and critical approaches to curriculum and education. It seeks contributions that rethink education beyond human-centered frameworks and explore emerging sociomaterial, ecological, technological, and affective relations shaping contemporary educational landscapes.

Sub-Themes
Submissions may address, but are not limited to, the following themes:
- Curriculum theory in posthuman contexts
- Digital culture and sociopolitical transformations of school landscapes
- Educational futures and imaginaries beyond and below the human
- Subjectivity, difference, and affect in curriculum and pedagogy
- Ecopedagogies, nature–culture relations, and human–nonhuman entanglements
- South Global perspectives and Black, Indigenous, queer, and feminist interfaces in curriculum studies
Submission Guidelines
Authors are invited to submit original articles that have not been previously published or submitted elsewhere. All manuscripts must comply with the journal’s author guidelines and ethical standards. Submissions will undergo a double-blind peer review process.
Proposed Timeline
- January 2026 — Call for Papers released
- June 2026 — Manuscript submission deadline
- July–October 2026 — Peer review and revision process
- December 2026 — Publication of the Special Issue
